How To Conquer The Stress Of Mastering Guitar Chords For Beginners

Despite the fact that there are no real shortcuts, there are a few practical guidelines that you can use to learn beginner guitar chords, starting today.

Lets suppose that you have a chart of chords and that you already have a comprehension of how to play the guitar, read a diagram and position your fingers on the fretboard and strings in the right way. Your following step would not be to try to learn every chord that is on the chart right away.

A preferable way would be to start with only two to three easy to play guitar chords. These should ideally be belonging to the same key or family. A key is a group of interrelated chords or a "family" that musicians use when writing songs.

Many guitar instruction methods will start a learner out utilizing the key of A. 3 chords from this family are "A" "D" and "E".

With any of these three chords a learner should be able to play quite a few easy guitar songs.

Take one chord at a time and determine the finger placement. Starting out with the "A". Practice keeping your fingers down on the chord and lifting them up and reposition them again repeatedly. Do this for as long as is comfortable for you. Don't worry too much about strumming at this point. This is termed building "muscle memory".

Next try strumming. Strum all the strings which are to be included for that chord. You might hear muted or buzzing sounds from the strings. If this happens, continue to keep your fingers positioned on the appropriate strings and attempt playing each string one at a time, listening to hear that a strong sound is coming from each one. Experiment with rocking your finger back and forth on each string until you get a clean sound.

Now that you seem to be comfortable with your first chord = "A", try carrying out the same thing for the following one. Carry out switching between chords in a similar way. Place your fingers for "A" and lift and replace your fingers for "D", and back to "A". Repeating this several times. Then you can add "E" to the mix. Start with the A, to the D to the E and continue looping this pattern or progression.

Don't get aggravated if your not moving forward as fast as you expect. Gradually with time and practice you will be strumming and know how to switch between chords easily.
